NSW

NSW interest-free loan + ESCs

Up to $15,000 interest-free for eligible whole-home energy upgrades, with Energy Savings Certificates where they apply.

  • Up to $15,000 interest-free loan for eligible households
  • Energy Savings Certificates (ESCs) where applicable
  • Federal STCs stacked on solar and batteries
  • Typical single-phase packages can be structured at very low or $0 upfront when loan-approved

VIC

Solar Victoria + VEECs

Solar Victoria rebate and interest-free loan options for eligible households, plus Victorian Energy Upgrades for heat pumps and efficiency.

  • Solar Victoria rebate and interest-free loan options for eligible households
  • Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU / VEECs) for heat pumps, efficiency upgrades and more
  • Federal STCs on solar and batteries
  • We calculate the stack for your site before you commit

Federal

STCs — Small-scale Technology Certificates

Every eligible solar and battery installation generates STCs that reduce the upfront price. We assign certificates as part of the quote so the discount is clear from day one.

  • Applies nationally to eligible solar and batteries
  • Discount is shown in the quote, not promised later
  • We handle assignment and documentation

NSW

PDRS — BESS4 & BESS5 PRCs

From 1 September 2026, NSW farms and businesses can create Peak Reduction Certificates on behind-the-meter batteries. Stack them on federal STCs to cut the cash you put in and lift ROI.

  • BESS4: small & medium business batteries, more than 20 kWh up to 200 kWh usable
  • BESS5: commercial & industrial, more than 200 kWh up to 30 MWh usable (certificates on the first 10 MWh)
  • PRCs are market-traded — we model the stack on assessment, not a frozen brochure number
  • Pair with new solar (and battery STCs / Cheaper Home Batteries where the system is ≤100 kWh) to maximise the incentive

NSW commercial · from 1 September

NSW business batteries can now create PRCs. Stack them on STCs.

From 1 September 2026, eligible NSW farms, sheds and commercial sites create Peak Reduction Certificates on a new behind-the-meter battery. Those PRCs sit on top of federal STCs on the solar — and on some smaller systems, on battery STCs / Cheaper Home Batteries too. That is how you cut the cash in and lift ROI, not by waiting for a better brochure.

BESS4

Small & medium business

More than 20 kWh up to 200 kWh usable

Workshops, retail, sheds and many farms on the NSW side of our run.

  • Behind-the-meter battery on a non-residential site
  • Internet-connectable and demand-response ready
  • Minimum customer co-payment currently $5,000
  • Systems ≤100 kWh may also stack Cheaper Home Batteries / battery STCs

BESS5

Commercial & industrial

More than 200 kWh up to 30 MWh usable

Larger pumps, cold rooms, light industrial and community batteries. Certificates calculated on the first 10 MWh.

  • Behind-the-meter on a non-residential site — not a data centre
  • UL9540A fire-safety testing on the battery
  • Internet-connectable and demand-response ready
  • STCs still apply to eligible solar sitting next to the battery

BESS3

Apartment buildings

More than 20 kWh up to 200 kWh usable

BCA Class 2 buildings with four or more dwellings.

  • Shared behind-the-meter battery
  • Minimum co-payment currently $1,000
  • Can stack Cheaper Home Batteries up to 100 kWh where the program allows

How the stack actually works

  • Federal STCs on eligible solar — always modelled in the quote
  • PDRS PRCs on the battery from 1 September 2026 (BESS4 or BESS5)
  • Cheaper Home Batteries / battery STCs on some BESS4 systems ≤100 kWh
  • New solar next to the battery usually creates more PRCs than a battery-only job

PRCs are market-traded certificates, not a fixed government cheque. Value moves with the certificate price, usable capacity (typically 90% of nominal), inverter size, network loss factor and whether new solar is paired. Installations must be on or after 1 September 2026. Site cannot have already claimed BESS4 or BESS5. Planning approval, SAA-accredited install and listed equipment apply. We model the stack on a free site visit — we will not print a frozen dollar figure that is wrong by the time we turn up.

NSW PDRS BESS4 & BESS5 — from 1 September

NSW farms, sheds and commercial sites can create Peak Reduction Certificates on a new behind-the-meter battery. BESS4 covers 20–200 kWh usable; BESS5 covers 200 kWh–30 MWh. Stack PRCs on federal STCs (and Cheaper Home Batteries on some systems ≤100 kWh) so the incentive actually shows up in the price.

NSW $15,000 interest-free loan

Eligible NSW households can finance solar, batteries and other upgrades interest-free over a long term. Combined with STCs, some single-phase packages can be structured at $0 upfront when approved.

VIC $0 upfront — third-party finance

Victorian homes can structure $0 at install through third-party finance you apply for. It is not a rebate, not free, and not the NSW government loan — repayments and approval sit with the lender. We help with the paperwork and still stack STCs and Solar Victoria where you qualify.

Solar Victoria rebate + loan

Victorian homeowners may access an upfront solar rebate and a matching interest-free loan — effectively pulling thousands off the install price when eligibility is met.

Heat pump hot water — VEECs

Victoria’s VEU program can take thousands off a heat pump hot water system. Combined with the Solar Victoria heat pump offer, many households see a mid-hundreds to low-thousands installed cost.

Induction cooktop rebate

Solar Victoria’s induction cooktop rebate helps Victorian households leave gas cooking. We handle the electrical upgrade as part of the package.

Guide only. Subject to eligibility, credit approval and current scheme rules. Nexus Energy Group does not guarantee approval of any rebate or loan.
