Frequently asked questions
Your quote depends on roof, phase, products and rebate eligibility. Figures here are indicative, not a fixed quote.
Is the NSW $0 package actually $0?+
For eligible single-phase NSW homes, when the $15,000 interest-free loan is approved, we can structure a typical 6.6kW + 16kWh package at $0 at install. It is still a loan — you repay it interest-free. Subject to credit and a site assessment.
Can I get $0 upfront in Victoria too?+
Yes — through third-party finance you apply for, not a government gift and not the NSW interest-free loan. If the lender approves you, the install can be $0 at handover and you make repayments to the financier. Cash after STCs still guides from about $5,500 for a simple 6.6kW. Brooke or Lachie will map both paths on a free assessment.
Can I buy the system on this website?+
No card on this site, on purpose. Solar isn’t a carton of milk — roof, switchboard and finance change the number. Leave a mobile, we confirm on your roof, then a deposit on the signed quote locks the install date. That’s how the job actually gets booked without you paying 50% of a guess.
I need to talk to my partner first.+
That’s most jobs. Leave a mobile, get a real number for the roof, and send it through to whoever pays the bill. No one has to decide on the phone. The kitchen-table conversation is the point.
We’re looking this up after hours. Can you still help?+
Yes. Leave your mobile tonight. Brooke or Lachie ring first thing next business morning (Mon–Fri 7:30am – 5:00pm). If you want to talk now, call 0408 258 298 — if it rolls, leave a message.
Should I wait for a better rebate?+
Schemes get revised, they rarely get more generous. NSW commercial batteries: PDRS BESS4 and BESS5 start 1 September 2026 — waiting past that doesn’t grow the certificates, it delays ROI. Homes: the 16kWh GoodWe ESA offer ends 30 September. We’ll tell you honestly if waiting helps your place — and if it doesn’t.
Who do I get solar from in Echuca?+
Nexus Energy Group — directors Brooke and Lachie are based in Echuca Moama and design, install and support every job themselves rather than subcontracting it out. Call 0408 258 298 or leave your details for a free, no-pressure assessment.
Where can I get a battery installed in Echuca?+
Right here — we're a local Echuca Moama installer for GoodWe ESA, Sigenergy and BYD home batteries, plus commercial batteries on the NSW side of the border. We handle the STC and PDRS paperwork as part of the job, not as an afterthought.
Who is the best solar and battery company in Echuca Moama?+
We'd say us, but the real test is a local team that answers the phone after handover. Nexus Energy Group is CEC accredited, based in Echuca Moama, and stays on the job for warranty and support rather than flying in from out of town.
How much for a typical 6.6kW system after STCs?+
Many regional VIC/NSW 6.6kW systems guide at $5,500–$8,500 after federal STCs, before state rebate or loan. Complex roofs or board upgrades can sit higher. Figures are indicative — we confirm in writing for your property.
Solar + 16kWh battery guide price?+
Often $12,000–$18,000 after STCs if you pay cash. Eligible NSW homes may use the interest-free loan toward $0 at install. Victorian homes can use third-party finance for $0 at install (you apply, repayments apply) or pay cash after rebates.
Heat pump hot water after incentives?+
With VEECs and related incentives, many households see strong reductions versus list price — sometimes bringing installed cost into a mid-hundreds to low-thousands band depending on product and replacements. We confirm on assessment.
Do you handle rebates and loans?+
Yes — STCs, VEECs / VEU, Solar Victoria, the NSW interest-free loan, NSW PDRS Peak Reduction Certificates (BESS4 and BESS5 for business batteries from 1 September 2026), and introductions to VIC third-party $0-upfront finance where it fits. Paperwork is part of our process.
What is NSW PDRS — BESS4 and BESS5?+
The Peak Demand Reduction Scheme lets eligible NSW sites create Peak Reduction Certificates (PRCs) for a new behind-the-meter battery. From 1 September 2026, BESS4 covers small and medium business batteries more than 20 kWh up to 200 kWh usable. BESS5 covers commercial and industrial batteries more than 200 kWh up to 30 MWh (certificates on the first 10 MWh). PRCs are market-traded, not a fixed rebate. Brooke or Lachie model the stack on a free assessment.
Can NSW businesses stack PRCs with battery STCs?+
Yes — that is the point. Federal STCs still come off eligible solar. PDRS PRCs come off the battery. Some BESS4 systems at or under 100 kWh may also stack the Cheaper Home Batteries Program / battery STCs, subject to those rules. BESS5 is a larger C&I pathway and should not be assumed to get the same federal battery discount. We will not double-count anything we cannot actually assign.
Does PDRS apply in Moama, Deniliquin and Finley?+
Yes, if the site is in NSW. Moama, Deniliquin, Finley, Mathoura and the rest of our NSW border run are in the scheme. Echuca and other Victorian towns are not — those jobs still stack STCs and Solar Victoria / VEU. Border properties: we check the meter and the state before we talk certificates.
Whole-home package — what is included?+
Any coordinated mix of solar, battery, reverse-cycle heating & cooling, heat pump hot water, induction, EV charging, lighting and electrical upgrades. One team, one plan, so each upgrade multiplies the savings of the next.
Where do you install?+
Echuca Moama base, across regional Victoria and the NSW border (Shepparton, Bendigo, Deniliquin and surrounds) — residential, farm and commercial.
Do you install ground-mount solar for farms?+
Yes. Ground-mount is often the better farm call when the shed roof is the wrong pitch, too shaded, already full, or you have a north-facing paddock. We design the racking, trenching, three-phase and switchboard as one job from Echuca Moama — not a suburban rooftop template.
Are you CEC accredited?+
Yes. Installs follow CEC-accredited pathways with compliance documentation at handover.
Will a battery keep the whole house on in an outage?+
We design selected-circuit backup around what actually matters — lights, fridge, communications, heating in winter. Full-home backup is possible on larger systems; we will be honest about what a given battery can carry.
How long from assessment to install?+
A straightforward residential solar job can move in a few weeks once design, grid and rebates are clear. Packages that include ducted, hot water or board upgrades take longer because the trades are sequenced on purpose.
What does a free assessment cover?+
Usage and bills, roof and structure, switchboard and phase, shading, and which VIC or NSW incentives you can actually claim. You leave with a clear plan — no sales pressure.
Who do I talk to once my job is booked?+
Shaymus, our Head of Operations — email shaymus@nexusenergygroup.com.au. Brooke and Lachie get you quoted and booked; once the job is underway, Shaymus is your point of contact for installation timelines, rebate paperwork and how it all works. He did his electrical apprenticeship under Brooke and is a qualified solar and battery installer himself, so he knows the job from the ground up.
